Consistent with their tradition of quality, all EXEDY racing and performance clutches are designed, engineered and built as race clutches - not rebuilt from stock clutches. Unlike other performance clutch manufacturers, EXEDY clutches are not made of gray cast iron from rebuilt stock clutches. Instead, EXEDY clutch pressure plates are newly constructed from ductile (nodular) iron for your increased safety in harsh performance environments.
The EXEDY Hyper Single disc clutch kit is engineered to optimize performance for cars that are moderately modified, but don't require the clutch capacity of a multi-plate clutch. Features include: a forged aluminum cover that is anodized purple, and is stiffer than a stamped cover allowing for a higher lever ratio to maintain the pedal efforts at a reasonable level. No clamp load deflection as in a pressed metal type cover. Steel flywheel. 6-puck Cerametallic facing. Spring center damper disc. Turbine like cooling vanes in pressure Plate.
The EXEDY Hyper Twin disc clutch kit is designed for high torque capacity with "reasonable" steetability. The friction facing material is cerametallic to bundle the abuse of highly modified engines. Again, with all cerametallic clutch systems, some chatter should be expected on low RPM startups. Featuring a single spring damper for both discs, this clutch design has strap lift and drive for both the pressure plate and the intermediate plate. A patented system evenly lifts both the main pressure plate and the intermediate plate providing a "clean" release for steetability. The Twin disc clutch also includes a lightweight billet chrome moly steel flywheel for maximum performance.
